Dr. Stevens & Burgess, 2003 – The Purdue Study- EFA supplementation in children with inattention, hyperactivity, and other disruptive behaviours.
After treatment with Efalex there were significant improvements in ADHD symptoms including a 73% reduction in hyperactivity, 64% improvement in attention, 69% improvement in conduct and a 79% improvement in opposition defiant disorder.
Population studied: 50 children with ADHD symptoms
Dosage & Duration 4 months supplementation with either Efalex or placebo
Method:
Results: These results were very significant because these children were already being treated (with drugs or behavioural therapies), so the improvements achieved using Efalex were over and above those that could be achieved using standard medication.
