Vitamins and minerals are essential to humans as they play essential roles in a variety of basic metabolic pathways that support fundamental cellular functions. The adult human brain makes up only 2% of the body weight, but it consumes approximately 20% of the energy deriving from glucose, which is required for cognition.
Results: Consuming adequate intakes of B vitamins contributes to maintenance of normal cognitive function and to enhanced well-being by decreasing perceived mental and physical fatigue and favouring positive mood.
